Less earns money from affiliate commissions. This page explains exactly how, because the entire product depends on you being able to trust the answer.

How Less earns

When Less recommends a product, merchant, or service and you follow a tracked link, the merchant may pay Less a commission through an affiliate network (such as FlexOffers, Skimlinks, Sovrn, or Partnerize). This costs you nothing and does not change the price you pay.

Your share: 50%

Less splits its net commission with you 50/50 as cashback. Every recommendation that carries a tracked link states your estimated share in dollars before you click, in this form:

The rules that keep recommendations honest

• Best net value wins, always. Recommendations are ranked by your net outcome — price, fees, codes, and cashback combined. Commission is consulted only as a tiebreaker between options within roughly 3% of the same net outcome. Every ranking decision is logged so this claim is auditable.
• Non-paying options are in the catalog on purpose. Some services pay Less nothing (for example, Mullvad VPN and Hetzner). When one of them is the genuinely better choice, Less says so and links to it anyway.
• No tricks. No browser extension, no auto-applied codes, no scraped coupons, no attribution games. Codes come from official network feeds; you click and check out in your own browser.

Cashback timing

Cashback appears in your wallet as pending when a purchase is reported, becomes locked once the network confirms the commission (typically 30–90 days, covering merchant return windows), and is paid when you withdraw (minimum $10, via Wise or PayPal). If a purchase is refunded, the associated cashback reverses. Less never pays out cashback before the network has paid Less.
